Lay Hoon Ho (Arty Guava) is a Vancouver-based artist and illustrator whose work bursts with the joy of movement, the serenity of nature, and a touch of playful fantasy. Drawing inspiration from her Malaysian upbringing, her pieces feature exuberant florals, dancing figures, and whimsical creatures-all rendered in a style that marries bold vibrancy with intricate detail. Through murals, patterns, and illustrations, she crafts visual stories that celebrate our profound connection to the earth and to one another.
At the heart of her practice is the theme of harmony-whether between people and nature, cultures, or the inner self. Her art invites viewers to pause, smile, and remember the magic woven into everyday moments. When not painting, she can be found hiking, sketching in parks, or handcrafting treasures, forever chasing light and the next spark of inspiration.
"Harmony is at the heart of my art practise. It is really important to me that everything just gets along with each other. People living in harmony with other people, people living in harmony with nature, people living in harmony with the environment, people being in harmony with themselves."
